Feel seen and supported as a single Christian
Christian Singles Therapy
Christian therapist specializing in comforting online therapy for single Christian adults throughout Ohio & Florida
Do you feel alone and left behind as a single Christian?
You’ve dreamed and prayed to be a wife and mother or husband and father, feeling called to marriage; but it has been a long time and it still has not happened.
Perhaps you feel lonely or like a failure as your friends and family get married and have kids but you haven’t. Maybe you feel sad, angry, jealous, tired, trapped, abandoned by God, or devastated and struggle to find peace and fulfillment in your life.
Perhaps you are feeling like you are running out of time or you missed your opportunity to get married and have a family.
Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life:
Experiencing difficulty with continuing to work, handle responsibilities, or even do fun activities
Feeling abandoned by God, invisible in the Church, or misunderstood by loved ones as you continue to remain single
Struggling with feeling like you don’t belong and difficulty with finding peace, hope, and purpose in your life
Singles Therapy can help.
It may feel impossible now, but you can discover comfort and strength in the midst of being single not by choice with the help of a fellow Christian.
You can discover more clarity and trust in God’s plan and feel more equipped to navigate your emotions
You can find more peace and make sense of your suffering in light of your Christian faith, even if you continue to remain single. And I can help you get there.
Singles Therapy helps you do 3 things:
Share

Cope

Common questions about Singles Therapy
-
Singles Therapy sessions with me are relaxed and conversational. No need for formality here- you can be yourself and I will be my authentic-therapist-self as we walk together through the ups and downs of your journey of being single. Some sessions are heavy when you need to unpack your inner experience of singleness; others are light-hearted when you need a break from the heaviness and we joke that your life is like a meme or TikTok video or we are celebrating the relief you feel. Singles therapy with me is collaborative and I welcome your feedback and questions. I show genuine care and respect for you in session to help you feel comfortable as we work together to achieve your goal of experiencing relief.
I like to start sessions with updates from you- how was vacation? How did that difficult family wedding go? Then we will talk about what is on your mind: your past or recent experiences with singleness, the impact singleness has on your life, other challenges or joys in your life, etc. We also may learn more about living with singleness and coping ideas, maybe even trying a coping exercise in session. All this is done with a warm and empathetic client-led approach. Finally, we will wrap up our conversation by confirming our next appointment and, if faith is important to you, closing with a personalized prayer offered by me just for you.

Therapy may be a good fit for you if you are ready to not suffer alone anymore and are ready to walk with a supportive, caring professional on your journey of being single. You may be afraid of the future and uncomfortable with your feelings, but you’re ready to face the discomfort of talking about them in order to get the help and relief you deserve. You are willing to self-reflect and have an open mind to what you may learn in session about yourself, your experience, and coping with singleness. You’re ready to do what it takes in session and outside session in your daily life to restore peace and fulfillment in your life. Therapy is a big investment of time, money, and energy, but you are ready to commit to the process.
Although I specialize in supporting single Christians, you do not need to be Christian in order to work with me if we both believe I am a good fit for your needs.

How long you need to be in singles therapy depends on your particular experience and individual needs. Many of my clients find that ongoing counseling every 1-2 weeks is helpful when the ups and downs of being single are rough for long periods of time; this could be for several months, a year, or more. You will know when to decrease or discontinue sessions when you feel sufficient relief and are ready to face future challenges with less support from me. Ultimately, I want a timeline that works best for you, and I will tailor the counseling process to fit your unique needs. There is no “right” answer for everyone on this, but there is a good answer for you, and I’ll help you find it.

Contact me to schedule a free consultation and I will reply to make it happen! During that 30-minute phone conversation, I will ask you to briefly describe your experience of being single that brings you to counseling and your goals for our work together. I will answer any questions or concerns that you may have about starting therapy, to make sure you are confident I am a good fit for you! If we both agree I am a good fit for your needs, I will then ask for some additional basic information about you, confirm some logistical details, and confirm my current availability for scheduling. Finally, if we’re both ready, I will schedule your first appointment, and I will send you some instructions and the needed paperwork to complete before that appointment. Off we go!
